Hi.

I'm Taryn. Thanks for stopping by. My blog is about my family's adventures since we threw caution to the wind, packed a suitcase and moved to another country in search of travel and new experiences

7 reasons why Eurocamp should absolutely be your next family holiday

7 reasons why Eurocamp should absolutely be your next family holiday

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. I do not work for Eurocamp, and have not been paid or given anything in lieu of this blog post. This is my opinion based on my holiday experiences with Eurocamp.

Summer 2018 will be our family’s third holiday to Eurocamp. We spent a blissful relaxing week at Des Menhirs, Carnac, in Brittany in Summer 2015. This year we were at Park Playa de Bara in Costa Dorada, Spain. And we have already booked our Summer 2018 trip to the Bella Italia, Lake Garda, Italy resort.

Three years in a row must say something for how fantastic these resorts are!

If you are looking for some inspiration on where your family's next Summer holiday should be, then look no further! Here are 7 reasons why you should absolutely choose Eurocamp

1. Location

With over 180 park locations in 13 countries and islands, you really are spoilt for choice. And if that idea scares you, then they have a fabulous online comparison tool that will help you select the right parc for what you want to get out of your holiday. You can chose from beach, mountain, lakeside or city locations, and the great part is that most parcs are within day trip distance to many local attractions and sights.

In France, we stayed in a parc about a 5 minutes walk to the beach, and then did day trips to other beaches in the area and the Carnac stones. The Spanish resort was very centrally located, right on the beach and about a 30 minute drive to Port Aventura Theme park, 45 minutes to Barcelona and 20 minutes to other local towns for some sight-seeing.

On our next trip to Bella Italia in Lake Garda, we plan on exploring the small towns in the area and taking a day trip to Venice and Milan.

2. Seriously good value for money

You can secure your holiday with just a £99 deposit, and flexible instalment payments up to 12 weeks before you travel. Great for spreading out the cost of a holiday over a year. Prices depend on the resort itself and the facilities they offer, and obviously time of year you are travelling. They currently have Easter specials for of a 7 night holiday for £259!

They also have a loyalty bonus of 5% off when you make a repeat booking. Happy days!

3. Accommodation to suit everyone

Accommodation ranges from classic tents to mobiles homes of various sizes and luxury, to lodges and bungalows. We have never stayed in a tent, but have had a peek inside and they look great. In France we stayed in a 3 bed Avant. These are modern mobile homes with all the basic amenities you could want. Accommodation is compact, with clever use of space and a lovely big deck with a barbeque, outdoor dining table and sun loungers. This made for many lovely Summer evenings outside, playing cards and relaxing.

Because our booking in Spain was a little last minute, we weren’t able to get an Avant mobile home at the resort. We had a 2 bed Vista. Very similar to the layout of the Avant inside, but the deck is smaller.

4. Resort facilities and entertainment

This is probably the main reason we have chosen Eurocamp three years straight. The resorts have everything you could possibly want to entertain the whole family. They are all centred around a large pool area, with slides and a poolside bar and restaurant. In peak season, the parc reps put on entertainment with pool games. The Spanish resort had a large amphitheatre where there was evening entertainment like magic shows, cabaret etc. There are also the usual things like play area for the little ones, indoor gaming area for the older ones, bike hire, tennis courts, football pitch, organised tours .. the list is endless. Depending on the size of the resort there are a number of restaurants to choose from if you don’t feel like cooking, there is a supermarket and laundry, and Spain even had an onsite hair dresser!

5. You don't have to pack the kitchen sink

Mobile homes come equipped with everything you could need to make your holiday stay comfortable. You can order bedding as an extra, which makes the car trip (if you are travelling by car) a lot less cramped. They also offer other packs to purchase, like kitchen cleaning essentials, or the Welcome pack which has a much need bottled of wine after a long trip. Baby and toddler equipment can be booked free of charge and Eurocamp onsite offices have lots of toys, games, buckets and spades etc that are free to use as well.

6. Safety

The resorts are controlled by key card access and at night there are security patrols. And because they are fully fenced off, we were completely comfortable allowing our older girls to ride their bikes around, or go to the swimming pool by themselves. We were on holiday during the terror attacks in nearby Cambrils, and never felt unsafe in the resort.

7. Camping community

If you are avid camper/glamper, then you will know exactly what I am talking about here. There is something special about the camping community, it’s a relaxed, friendly environment where you talk to your neighbours and make new friends. It’s very social just by nature of the layout of the resorts and the accommodation.
